Edison Middle School Home

Welcome

The Edison School District was organized on January 9, 1911. Its territory was taken from the Fairfax and Rockpile School Districts. There had been a school district known by the name of Lakeview serving the area from 1896 to 1903, but it lapsed. The Edison School District took its name from the Southern California Edison Company, which at the time was developing power projects in the mountain areas above Edison.

Edison Middle School – 2025/2026 School Year

Dear Edison Panthers – Students, Families, and Community Partners,
As we look ahead to the 2025–2026 school year, I want to personally welcome you back—and share how truly excited I am to serve you as the proud principal of Edison Middle School.

This year, we are focused on excellence—in the classroom, in our character, and in how we support one another as a school family. Together, we will work to boost achievement in reading and math, strengthen our positive school culture, increase daily attendance, and hold ourselves to high standards of accountability and respect.

At Edison, we believe in the limitless potential of every student. Our teachers and staff are committed to providing a safe, challenging, and caring environment where all Panthers can thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally.

We’re also strengthening our partnerships with families and the broader community, because student success is a team effort. Whether it’s through school events, parent engagement opportunities, or simply staying connected, your voice matters and your support makes all the difference.

Let’s make this a year of growth, unity, and Panther pride. I encourage you to stay involved, ask questions, and celebrate every milestone—big or small—along the way.

Here’s to a strong start and an amazing journey ahead!

With Panther Pride,
 Eric Rumbo

Welcome Message from the Vice Principal

Hello Edison Families,

Welcome to a new school year at Edison Middle School! My name is Stephanie Rios, and I’m honored to serve as your Vice Principal. I’m so excited to support your children—and to partner with you—as we begin another great year of learning and growth.

Middle school is such an important time in a child’s life. At Edison, we’re committed to making sure every student feels safe, supported, and ready to succeed—not just academically, but socially and emotionally as well. From the moment they step on campus, our goal is to help students feel confident, cared for, and challenged in all the right ways.

As Vice Principal, one of my main focuses is building strong relationships—with students, staff, and especially families. We know that when families are involved, students do better. I truly believe that open communication and teamwork between school and home can make all the difference. Whether you have a question, a concern, or just want to check in, I’m always here to listen and help.

Thank you for trusting us with your child’s education. I’m looking forward to a year full of progress, connection, and Panther pride.

Warmly,
Stephanie Rios
Vice Principal
Edison Middle School
